So today we’re at the Old Church in Red Hill to marry Bec and Leigh and they have an interesting and a sad story.
I first met them four years ago, when we first started doing pop up weddings at one of our very first venues down in Portsea. Beck was all over the idea of a pop up wedding and so became, but they had a really big family. So he decided that he wants sign up and had a big wedding.
So we parted ways, so I thought, that they kept a pretty close eye on social media over the years, unbeknownst to us.
Sadly, last year, Leigh was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Now, by that time, Bec had apparently talked to him around to the idea of a pop up wedding and he was sold on the idea.
Tragically, just a few weeks ago, his condition was diagnosed as being palliative. So Bec reached out after all those years and to chin up our Boho Picnic Elopement online, and wanted to know if we could help her in less than two short weeks, we’ve pulled our entire collective together and we’ve managed to make today happen.
Everybody in the whole process has been incredibly helpful to make sure that today can be really, really special for Leigh and Bec.
We are all set up and ready to go and they should be arriving shortly.
Today has been amazing. It’s been some time he’s done a brilliant job setting everything up for us. And it was so easy. We didn’t have to really worry about too much at all. Naomi would ring if we ever need anything and she was great to talk with. She took care of of everything. It’s so amazing. Yeah, all the fairy lights and the little teepee. It’s just so cute.
The whole location it’s really good.
Yeah. It’s such a such a stunning spot with the big glass window in a view. And she’s just done an amazing job making it look…
Yeah. That’s been kind of nice.
Just the two of us. I mean, obviously, we have three kids so we don’t get much time away anymore. So it’s been quite nice having it just…
Yeah. But still amazing.
